Case Study Prompt
There has been an increasing trend in the last decade of consumers switching consumption to alternative milk sources from cow milk. Consumers want more nutritious and healthy alternatives. Yak milk has received a lot of attention recently as it is easy-to-digest for lactose-intolerant consumers, contains 5% less fat, and contains more vitamins & minerals than cow milk. These features, along with a greater percentage of beneficial antioxidants, antibacterial, antiviral, and immunoglobulin properties, have given it a new “superfood” status.
Our client is Yakmilk Inc., launched in late 2017 in the US. Due to COVID-19, sales have gone down in 2020 and continue to do so even in 2021 i.e., from $500M to $200M.
Our client wants to know how to increase revenue and profits.
Case Study Overview
Your job in this case is to provide a strategy to help your client reverse a major decline in sales. You need to design a structure that will lead to a solution that increases both revenue and profits.
When designing your structure/framework, don’t fall into the trap of relying on a basic case framework i.e., the Profitability Framework. While that is a good place to start, allow yourself to be move beyond the framework to design one that is tailored exactly to the problem in the case.
