Prime Buchholz

Prime Buchholz was founded in 1988 by Jon Prime and Jim Buchholz, two former chief financial officers at prestigious universities, who were frustrated by conflicts of interest in the money management industry. They believed in the importance of independence for conflict-free investment advice and started the firm in Portsmouth, NH, with a small support staff and four institutional clients.

As more investors recognized the value of independent advice, Prime Buchholz expanded and now serves clients across the eastern half of the United States. Beyond investment advising, the firm’s sophisticated research operation acts as an extension of clients’ staff, providing structure and resources to make effective decisions and handling all coordination of investment activity to free up clients’ time to focus on their goals.
