The Company was founded in 1916 as an actuarial firm in New York City by George B. Buck. Buck has over 2,250 employees and affiliates across over 200 global locations. The firm remained an independent organization until 1997, and Affiliated Computer Services (ACS) acquired the HR businesses in 2005. Buck has been acquired by a few different companies since its founding, but they have continued to grow their HR services.

The company is headquartered in New York City. However, it also has global operations. The firm’s primary focus is helping clients find the best organizational performance for its company, while also creating positive wealth, health, and career outcomes for its employees.
